Description

"Bone thugs-n-harmony THE ART OF WAR MULTI-PLATINUM SALES AWARD PRESENTED TO KATE FERGUSON/WORD UP! TO COMMEMORATE MORE THAN 4,000,000 COPIES OF THE RUTHLESS/RELATIVITY RECORDS CASSETTE & COMPACT DISC. "THE ART OF WAR" RIAA CERTIFIED SALES AWARD"

"PLATINUM SALES AWARD" cassette, "Bone thugs-n-harmony THE ART OF WAR WW I" and "Bone thugs-n-harmony THE ART OF WAR WW II" compact discs, in black frame with silver and black matte, 17 by 20 in (43.2 x 50.8 cm.).

Perhaps best known for their Grammy-winning, "Tha Crossroads", Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is widely considered amongst the greatest Hip Hop groups to ever practice the craft.

The Art of War is a double-disc album released by Bone in 1997, in which the group mixed violent lyrics with those focused on God and family, all on top of ambient, rhythmic melodies. Top singles from the record include "Look into My Eyes", "If I Could Teach the World", and "Thug Luv" featuring Tupac Shakur.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is the only outfit to collaborate with Tupac, the Notorious B.I.G., Eazy-E, and Big Pun while they were alive, with MTV calling them "the most melodic Hip Hop group of all time."

The plaque offered here was a gift to Kate Ferguson, Editor-in-Chief of Word Up! and Rap Masters magazines, both entertainment publications geared towards Black American teenagers.

Provenance: From the personal collection of Kate Ferguson
