A jewelled silver-gilt, champlevé and guilloché enamel cigarette case, maker’s mark Cyrillic I.S or M.S, St Petersburg, 1908-1917


rectangular, the body divided into three panels, the large central panel and sides enamelled in translucent light green over moiré engine turning, the two thinner outer panels enamelled in lemon yellow over a ground engraved with laurel wreaths over a trellis pattern, the yellow enamelled panels within a silver dot and dash border, the border between each panel a row of silver-framed black enamel, the thumb-piece set with a row of rose-cut diamonds, struck to the interior with maker's initials in Cyrillic, 88 standard, with later Soviet marks

length 9.1cm; 3 9/16 in.
