Oblong form, with scrolling foliate decoration, two lion mask drop ring handles, on four mask and lion paw feet, engraved 'F. Barbedienne, Paris' and 'Ct Sevin 1867, de Attarge Fit'.

The current lot is illustrated in the Art Journal Catalogue of the 1867 Paris International Exposition (p.200) and described, along with Barbedienne's other pieces as '...of excellence unsurpassed by any other manufacturer of objets de luxe in bronze or in silver...'.
