Patek Philippe launched reference 5711 in 2006 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nautilus. Pulling inspiration from the original Nautilus design by Gérald Genta, reference 3700, the present watch features a slightly larger case design. When reference 3700 was first introduced to the market in 1976, it was marketed as the world's most expensive stainless steel wristwatch. Today it remains one of the most sought after models, due to its elegant and timeless design.
Sotheby's is excited to offer an early version of this reference. The present lot might be one of the last examples of this reference carrying the Geneva seal on the movement instead of the Patek Philippe seal introduced by the manufacturer in 2009. Complete with Certificate of Origin and presentation case, the present lot is in attractive condition and is an exciting opportunity for any collector to get their hands on a Nautilus.
