The Golden Ellipse is the second oldest model in Patek Philippe’s collection after the Calatrava. Launched in 1968, the inspiration behind its creation was to have the elliptical case with dimensions that respect the golden ratio. For over 50 years, the Golden Ellipse has been in current production at Patek Philippe.

When it comes to collecting Patek Philippe, having a sealed piece still in its original plastic sleeve increases its desirability. The present lot is not only sealed in its plastic, but still in its cardboard box as well, a combination known as 'double-sealed' among collectors and the ultimate when it comes to condition and collectability. Needless to say the present lot is accompanied by its Certificate of Origin and presentation case.
