The Royal Oak is the most famous model from the distinguished manufacture Audemars Piguet. Based in Le Brassus which is nestled in the Vallée de Joux, the brand is famous both for its complicated watchmaking and its design innovations. Created by Gerald Genta in the early 70s at the height of the Quartz Crisis, the Royal Oak design has persisted ever since and this particular example in 18 karat rose gold is a luxurious version thereof.
The watch comes on a blue "large sqaure scale" alligator leather strap and a matching blue tapisserie dial which is a beautiful contrast to the warm rose gold and makes it the most sought-after color combination of this reference. At the heart of the watch is a sophisticated and high-quality cal. 4401 automatic movement with flyback chronograph and date function.
