Designed as an articulated serpent, the eyes set with rose-cut rubies, and accented with old mine-, old European- and rose-cut diamonds, suspending an emerald drop.

Founded in 1879 in Frankfurt by brothers Robert and Louis Koch, Koch was considered one of the premier European jewelry houses in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The firm specialized in intricate and impressive diamond-set jewelry and was popular with German and Scandinavian royal and noble families. Many Belle Époque and Edwardian tiaras created by Koch remain in European royal families and continue to appear regularly at important State events and weddings.
