woodblock-printed illustrated book, fukurotoji-bon (pouch binding), 3 volumes, each with title slip printed in blue, and comprising:


- vol. 1 with pink embossed paper covers and title slip printed in blue with falcon-feathers, with artist’s signature Nanjurou rei Hokusai Iitsu aratame gakyo rojin Manji hitsu (Brush of Manji, Mount Fuji above trigram seal old man crazy to paint, changed from the former Hokusai Iitsu, aged seventy-six), preface by Ryutei Tanehiko (1783-1842), block cutters Egawa Tomekichi, published in Nagoya by Eirakuya Toshiro (Tohekido) and in Edo by Kadomaruya Jinsuke, Nishimuraya Yuzo and Nishimuraya Yohachi (Eijudo), circa 1834-35

- vol. 2 with yellow paper covers and red circular pine seal to title slip, published by published in Nagoya by Eirakuya Toshiro (Tohekido) and in Edo by Izumiya Ichibei (Kansendo), circa 1835, later edition

- vol. 3 with orange red paper covers, the preface signed Shippo Yamashita Rojin, published by Eirakuya Toshiro (Tohekido), circa 1849
