An Arita V.O.C dish
Edo period, late 17th century
the circular dish with wide rim, decorated in underglaze blue with a central roundel depicting the V.O.C. monogram, surrounded by ho-o birds among pomegranate and camellia, six radiating border panels with stylised flowers and foliage
