Edo period, 19th century 

 

each a woodblock print, from the series Famous Places in the Sixty-odd Provinces (Rokujuyoshu meisho zue), signed Hiroshige hitsu (Brush of Hiroshige), censor’s seal aratame (certified), published by Koshimuraya Heisuke, and comprising: 

- Bitchu Province: Gokei (Bitchu, Gokei), 12th month 1853 

- Chikugo Province: The Currents Around the Weir (Chikugo, Yanase), 9th month 1855 

- Settsu Province: Sumiyoshi, Idemi Beach (Settsu, Sumiyoshi, Idemi no hama), 7th month 1853

- Awaji Province: Goshiki Beach (Awaji, Goshiki hama), 9th month 1855 

- Nagato Province: Shimonoseki (Nagato, Shimonoseki), 3rd month 1856
