woodblock print, from the series Twenty Views of Tokyo (Tokyo nijukei), signed in blue ink Hasui, sealed Kawase, publisher’s mark (Hotei 'C', circa 1927-32) to lower right margin Hanmoto Watanabe hanga-ten [publisher, Watanabe print dealer], dated Showa gonen saku (made in 1930)
Vertical oban: approx. 38.7 x 25.9 cm., 15¼ x 10¼ in.
Partially veiled by clouds, a full moon lingers over a thatched farm dwelling and tilled field at Magome, Gifu Prefecture.
