注：史可法，字憲之，號道鄰，明開封人。明末抗清名將，為官清廉，堅貞不屈，堅守揚州，拒降後被殺，南明賜諡號忠靖，清賜諡號忠正。傳世墨跡極為稀有，本幅作於十九歲，師從左光斗，史氏時尚未中舉，刻苦臨古，用心帖學，書風頓挫有度，炯炯有神，為重要的研究史料。本幅經著名收藏家宮本昂(1821-1874)鑑藏，並鈐其印三方。宮氏，字子行、紫珩、千里，出身于江蘇泰州宮氏家族，端方曾說其收藏為「宇宙之奇觀」，可見質量之精、數量之眾。
