Description
le Carré, John
The Looking-Glass War. London: Heinemann, 1965
8vo (195 x 126 mm). Inscribed on the front free endpaper. Publisher's black cloth, spine lettered in white, in the original dustjacket printed in red, yellow, black, and white; dustjacket just barely rubbed at extremities.
First edition, inscribed "Leon Drucker | with best wishes | John le Carré." Written as a response to the reception of The Spy That Came in from the Cold, the novel was written as an overt satire, aimed at those readers who had failed to grasp his earlier critiques and who continued to romanticize spy work.
