The Faerie Queene — The Second Part of the Faerie Queene. London: Printed [by Richard Field] for William Ponsonbie, 1596


Two volumes, 8vo (190 x 131 mm). Woodcut devices on titles of both volumes; vol. 1: title soiled and with extreme upper corner renewed, E8, Cc4, Cc5, Cc8 and Kk8 with repaired tears crossing text, another on Bb1 with some letters restored, other marginal repairs, larger on R8; light soiling and occasional foxing. 19th-century red morocco gilt, spines richly gilt, all edges gilt; trifling wear at extremities, a handsome copy.


Second edition of the first part (Books 1-3), first edition of the second (Books 4-6). This edition omits the sonnets at the end of the 1590 edition.
