Rong Rong's East Village features a portfolio of forty reproductions of Rong Rong’s most significant photographs taken between 1993 and 1998, chronicling the East Village's artistic community and the performances of artists such as Zhang Huan, Ma Liuming, Cang Xin, and Zhu Ming.
Apart from the images, which are visually striking in their own right, the present work serves as an important record of the early performance art staged by the Chinese avant-garde.
