Small folio (280 x 182 mm). Engraved portrait frontispiece, engraved allegorical title-page, woodcut headers and initials; a few leaves stained, some rust-spots and small holes, early ink notes on front flyleaf. Contemporary English paneled calf, lozenge-shaped gilt ornaments at center of each side, gilt spine; lacking ties, moderate wear at extremities.

First complete edition in English, second issue with colophon dated 1640. Enlarged and expanded from the 1605 Latin edition
