oval, the lid applied with an earlier enamel plaque of three ladies by a waterfall, a couple of swans on the river in the foreground, within an opalescent white enamel half bead frame on sablé ground, on a translucent anthracite enamel ground over chevron engine-turning, framed by a border of translucent olive-green enamel bands alternating with large opalescent beads within green enamel flowerheads on a matted ground, the sides and base similarly decorated, the sides also with further dividers and a vitruvian scroll border in translucent dark green enamel, French prestige marks including maker's mark, date letter N for 1776 and charge and discharge marks
