'A change is necessary in essence and form. We must go beyond painting, sculpture and poetry. We require an Art that is based on this new vision. The Baroque period pointed us in the right direction, it presented a grandeur in which the notion of time combined with plasticity; the figures seemed to abandon the surface and continue their movements within the space. [...] A new aesthetic is being formed: luminous shapes travel through space. Movement, color, time and space are the fundamental concepts of this new Art. In the everyday human subconscious a new conception of life is emerging; the creators are slowly but inexorably beginning the conquest of the everyday man.' (The Technical Manifesto, Lucio Fontana)
