A Large Cantagalli Iznik-Style Pottery Vase, Late 19th Century
decorated in relief with floral ornamentation in red, green and cobalt blue, Cantagalli Cockerel mark over Italy mark in blue
height 16 5/8 in., 42.3 cm
The present vase appears to be copied from a vase in the Italian Royal collections, published in Théodore Deck, La Faience, 1887, p. 26, fig. 11. A second example, slightly larger, was sold at Sotheby's London, October 24, 2018, lot 254. A further example was sold at Christie's London, June 24, 2020, lot 10.
