A Japanese Export Silver and Enamel Mounted Satsuma Porcelain Claret Jug, Circa 1890-1900
the globular jug painted with flowering branches and birds, with gild details, on crackle ground, the plain silver mount enameled to match with basse-taille translucent leaves, peonies, and butterflies, each side and the cover centered by enameled mon emblem, plain double-scroll handle, the silver apparently unmarked, the ceramic with painted marks underneath
