A Continental Parcel-Gilt Silver Standing Cup and Cover (Traubenpokal), Stanislau, 1818
in early 17th century style, modelled as a bunch of grapes with vase of flowers finial, the vine trunk stem applied with an Indian and two serpents, marked with city and Austro-Hungarian control mark on body, foot, and cover, apparently no maker’s mark

Stanislau, now Ivanov-Frankovsk in Western Ukraine, was founded in the 17th century by Hetman Jedrzej Potocki in 1662, was under control of Poland- Lithuania until 1793, then Austro-Hungaria until 1918, and Poland until 1939. Its large Jewish population was decimated by the Nazis in World War II.
