A woman artist, Chryssa was early associated with the Leo Castelli gallery and was considered to anticipate - according to Barbara Rose - Minimalism by seven years with her series of plaster sculptures the "Cycladic Sculptures". From the 1960s onwards, she developed a body of work almost exclusively dedicated to neon sculptures.
