A George II mahogany adjustable reading table, circa 1750

the ratcheted hinged top concealing a rising book-stop with release pulls to the reverse, each side with a hinged candle-stand above a shallow pen drawer, raised on an adjustable support with securing turn-screw, the columnar stem on cabriole legs with pad feet and brass castors
