of Chinese porcelain vase form, chased with vertical fluting between a lower band of acanthus and an upper band of running tulips, daffodils, grapes and other flowers on matted ground, chained cover also fluted and with urn finial, raffia-covered scroll handle, monster- head spout, engraved on base with initials M.D.B.M., fully marked on base, axe control on rim of cover and base
