A Meissen Chinoiserie Hot Water Jug and Cover, Circa 1725
painted, in the manner of J. G. Höroldt, with a continuous scene of figures at various pursuits, above concentric circles in iron-red, with a gilt-scrollwork border at the rim, the handle with a branch of indianische Blumen, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, both with gilt letter H. mark, incised Dreher's mark / to inside edge of footrim

Sotheby's Scientific Research department used noninvasive XRF for this lot to screen the green enamel for chromium, which was not detected.
