Sakuma Fujia is a fourth generation Mashiko potter. His grandfather Sakuma Totaro, was a great friend of Hamada Shoji. Sakuma Fujia studies art at Nagoya University of Art before returning to Mashiko to work at the family kiln, and is known to use  traditional Mashiko material in a fresh and dynamic way.
