Inscribed on half-title to Olwyn Hughes, Ted Hughes' elder sister: "To Olwyn | Much love | From Ted". 

The titles of some poems have been crossed out in pen in the Table of Contents, and the corresponding verse struck through in the main body of the text, whilst pages 25-26 (containing the poems "Pennines in April" and "Hawk Roosting") have been roughly torn out.
