FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM, SECOND ISSUE ("138" misprinted as "13" on contents leaf, "w shed" on p. 56, "GRIFFITH FARRAN & Cos | Standard | Library" at foot of spine), 8vo, illustrated frontispiece by Charles Ker, original red cloth lettered in gilt on upper cover and spine, stamped with black decorative borders, dark brown endpapers, leaves uncut, bespoke brown morocco and marbled clamshell box, small closed tear at outer margin of title-page, dampstain affecting outer margins of final text leaves and lower board, spine slightly discoloured, extremities rubbed
