8vo (260 x 178mm.), 76 hand-coloured aquatint or engraved plates, of which 5 folding, pencil ownership inscription to title, later red morocco gilt by Birdsall, spine with raised bands in six compartments, gilt edges, marbled endpapers, inner dentelles, light offsetting from plates onto facing leaves


John Buonarotti Papworth (1775-1847) was a British architect and artist, and one of the founding members of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He was, according to John Summerson, "one of the most versatile architects and decorative artists of the period".
