(of Glasgow), elaborately gilt-tooled with thistle and peacock motifs, gilt edges, some marginal paper repairs (some just touching printed marginalia), quire c somewhat smudged, annotations washed

A charming volume. The woodcuts were previously used in the folio Latin Bible printed in Lyon in 1520 (Mortimer, Harvard French 63) and are connected with the artists Hans Springinklee and Erhard Schön. This edition is also recorded with the names of the Lyon printers Jacques Giunta and Hugues de La Porte in the colophon.
