Qing dynasty, signed Zhang Shoushan


gracefully modelled standing, his robes falling in ample folds leaving his torso bare revealing beaded jewellery and a wan symbol on his chest, his serene face detailed with downcast eyes set in a benevolent expression, the back impressed with a Zhang Shoushan (Chang Shou-shan) mark within a double gourd, wood stand

清 德化白瓷阿彌陀佛立像

Another related Blanc de Chine Amitabha Buddha by Zhang Shoushan (Chang Shou-shan) is in the Percival David Foundation, London, now in the British Museum, illustrated in P.J. Donnelly Blanc de Chine, London, 1969, pl. 138A. Zhang Shoushan was a contemporary of He Chaozong, working in Dehua during the 17th century.
