Arabic manuscript on paper, 358 pages, 9 lines to the page, written in Maghribi script in black ink, verses separated by gold motifs, khamsa and ’ashra verse markers, incomplete, surah headings written in gold Kufic script on red ground, brown morocco binding, with flap


23 by 19cm.

Ex-collection Robert Astier de Villatte (b.1885), thence by descent.

Robert Astier de Villatte was an officer in the French military who spent time in Morocco from 1919-33 and 1941-43, during which time he likely acquired this manuscript.
