Chancery folio (306 x 212mm.), 218 leaves, A⁴ a–z A–C⁸ D⁶, 62 lines of commentary plus headline, roman type, some leaves with deckle edge at foredge, contemporary half tooled calf over wooden boards (lower pastedown with watermark of a basilisk, Briquet 2674, dated Ferrara, 1505), two clasps, paper lettering pieces on lower cover with author's name and a red X, in modern drop-backed folding box, section of front flyleaf excised and replaced, D3-4 slightly browned, binding slightly rubbed, a few small wormholes in binding, spine worn and defective, lacking both straps
