Description

Bible. Latin

[Biblia cum concordantiis Veteris et Novi Testamenti & sacrorum canonum, edited by Alberto da Castello]. (Venice: Lucantonio Giunta, 28 May 1511)

4to (213 x 160mm.), woodcut illustrations (some full-page) and initials, some printing in red (the Eusebian canon tables within red frames), without final blank leaf, later calf, lacking title-page, occasional light damp-staining, a few small marginal tears, b9 repaired at foot, binding scraped

This is one of many works edited by Alberto da Castello, a Dominican from SS. Giovanni e Paolo (there are numerous other works of his in this sale). It is a reprint of the 1506 Giunta Bible with Alberto's revision of the Vulgate along with concordances, text variants in the margins and the Eusebian canon tables, and revised again by Alberto for this 1511 printing.
