Various double gourd-shaped vessels had been excavated from the Banpo archaeological site, including plain or painted examples. The Xi’an Banpo Museum houses a double-gourd shaped bottle painted with bird and fish patterns (no. ZHT14H467:1). A Banpo-type red pottery plain double-gourd vase was exhibited in Splendor of the Past: The Spirit and Form of Ancient Chinese Ceramics, organised by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, 13th February – 13th April 2014. Another plain Banpo-type vase is among the collections of Jinyu Museum of Ancient Ceramics in Xuchang, Henan.
