This British black comedy was written and directed by Bruce Robinson. The story follows two unemployed substance-abusing actors who escape London life for the weekend and stay at a cottage owned by Withnail's (Richard E. Grant) eccentric uncle Monty, in order to restore their health. However, a different story unfolds! This was Richard E. Grant's first full-length feature role. The film also stars Paul McGann, Richard Griffiths, and Ralph Brown. Withnail and I is not only a cult classic but an important British Film.
