An unusual wucai 'daji' double gourd vase
Ming dynasty, wanli period
明萬曆 五彩福祿萬代大吉紋葫蘆瓶
with a broad lower bulb supporting a smaller bulb, each decorated on a white ground with wide continuous bands of scrolling gourd borne on a foliate stem, the double gourd shaped medallions enclosing the characters daji in red
Height 27 cm, 10¾ in.
