Collection of 48 photographs, plus a panorama of Japanese dancers, circa. 1880s
51 albumen prints (average 192 x 265mm., or the reverse), comprising 48 individually mounted on card (mounts 328 x 460mm.) and captioned by hand in German in ink on the reverse, 3 forming a 3-part folding panoramic photograph of 'Miyako-Odori dancing in Kioto' (overall image 200 x 794mm.), housed in a contemporary fitted buckram box with red label on the spine titled "Japan: Kobe, Kioto, Nagoya, Yokohama', 3-part photograph detached at cloth fold, occasional slight fading, box spotted and rubbed with some wear
A good collection of photographs including topographical views, trades, portraits, street traders, and scenes of Japanese life.
