oil on canvas, probably on its original stretcher, in a carved and gilt period frame

unframed: 70.9 x 55.9 cm.; 27⅞ x 22 in.;

framed: 93 x 74.5 cm.; 36⅝ x 29⅜ in.

Possibly Pallavicini family;
By descent to M. Vittoria Pallavicino dal Pozzo (according to an inscription on the reverse);
Anonymous sale, Dorchester, Duke's, 14 September 2017, lot 973.
We are grateful to Dr Francesco Petrucci who endorses the attribution to Jacob Voet from photographs, and dates the painting to circa 1680.
