AVIA, AVIA 855, SIZE 15
Leather, Rubber, Cotton
1987
These sneakers were worn by Scottie Pippen during his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls in 1987, predating his partnership with Nike. The shoes have a Chicago Bulls inspired colorway, with white uppers with red accents, and a red ‘AVIA’ logo across the lateral side. Notably the shoes are signed ‘Scott Pippen’ as opposed to ‘Scottie.' Pippen penned his number ‘33’ next to each signature, a number that the Chicago Bulls would later retire in honor of his incredible contributions to the team.
In 1992 he won Gold playing for the USA Olympic ‘Dream Team’ in Barcelona, Spain. One of the greatest basketball rosters ever assembled, his teammates included Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and Magic Johnson. He won his second Gold Medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Pippen is the only basketball player to have twice won an NBA title and Olympic gold medal in the same year (1992, 1996). He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
By the time Pippen retired he was a 6 time NBA Champion, a 7 time NBA All Star, the 1994 NBA All-Star Game MVP, and the 1995 NBA Steals Leader. He is widely considered one of the greatest players of all-time and is part of the trio, along with Dennis Rodman and Michael Jordan, that created the 90s dynasty of NBA Championships in Chicago.
The shoes are accompanied by a Letter of Opinion from MEARS Authentication, LLC, with an “Authentic” Final Grade. The signatures have been authenticated by Beckett.
