One of the greatest of all-time, and perhaps the most electrifying player the game has known, Kobe Bryant ushered in a new era of “Showtime” basketball in Los Angeles. The only son of former Philadelphia 76ers player Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, Kobe rose to national prominence when he became the first guard in league history to be drafted out of high school. He would go on to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to five NBA title championships - including three consecutive NBA championships between 2000 and 2002 - become a two-time NBA finals MVP, and score 30,000 points in the process.

In addition to his NBA career, Kobe Bryant played a significant role in Team USA’s Olympic triumphs in 2008 and 2012. In the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, held in London, Bryant scored 17 points for team USA in their Gold Medal win. Bryant played alongside top scorer Dwyane Wade and basketball legend Lebron James to lead the USA team to a 118-107 victory over Spain. In May of this year, Kobe Bryant was officially posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. His legacy as one of basketball’s greatest legends lives on.

This pair of Nike Zoom Kobe 1s were initially designed for the 2006 Houston NBA All Star Game. The pair features throwback Houston colors of red and yellow in reference to the Rockets’ original color scheme. The Varsity red suede upper has contrasting red and white patent leather Swooshes and mudguards. The pair also boasts Kobe’s logo on the tongue with a debossed ‘ALL STAR 2006’ on the inside.
