Two porcelain cache pots, Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Nicholas I (1825-1855)


each with a detachable base; cylindrical with a flaring mouth and out-turned lip on a circular moulded base, the upper edge of the body and the base decorated with solid and leaf-tip bands of gilding, the lower end of the two sculpted lob handles modelled as swans, the upper ends as foliate scrolls curling around a rosette; one with the body painted with a purple ground, a floral frieze on the front within a rectangular gilt leaf-tip border; one painted in gilt, green and blue with palmettes and foliate scrolls forming three columns between the tops of which sit four white rosettes,
