centring a large oval Siberian amethyst, bordered with rose-cut diamond borders, suspended from a square link, with diamond-set gold suspension loop, marked on suspension loop with workmaster's initials, 56 standard

height incl. loop, 4.3 cm; 1⅞in.

A very similar design for this amethyst pendant is contained in Albert Holmström's jewellery design book, dated 17 March 1910.

Sourced from the Ural Mountains, Siberian amethysts exhibit the ideal hue for these gems, with primarily purple tones balanced with blue and only secondary red tones.
