the seated wood figure carved from cypress wood in yosegi zukuri [joined-block consturction] and applied overall with lacquer and gold leaf, modelled as the Amida Budda with serene expression, the eyes simply carved, the deity seated in lotus expression with the right hand poised in abhayamudra and the left hand in dhyanamudra, the hair arranged in small, snail shell-shaped spiral curls (rahotsu), the draped robe open at the torso falling in pleats
