This epic film was written and directed by George Lucas. The cast includes Ewan McGregor, Liam Neeson, and Natalie Portman. This film takes place thirty-two years before the original trilogy, during the Galactic Republic era. It tells the story of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) as they attempt to protect the peaceful world of Naboo, and secure a harmonious end to an interplanetary trade dispute. The Jedi Knights are joined by a young slave, Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), who has remarkably strong powers of the Force, and together they take on the re-emerged controlling Sith.
