This mock-up poster was one of several different designs being considered for the main US poster campaign. The artwork on this piece did not go on to feature on the main poster.

This film was directed by George Roy Hill. The cast includes Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Robert Shaw. George Roy Hill directed Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), which also starred Newman and Redford. This film in set in 1936, and tells the story of two small time professional crooks (Newman and Redford) who team up to try and con a mob boss. The film won seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
