The beautiful basse-taille enamelling on this pendant crucifix is very close to that seen in a Spanish cross circa 1600 illustrated in A. Kugel, R. Distelberger and M. Bimbenet-Privat, Joyaux Renaissance: Une splendeur retrouvée, Paris, 2000, no. 79.
