This work shows Saint Matthew (not Saint Philip), half-length, holding a set square and not a crucifix, as previously described.

This painting is a studio copy after the prime version by Ribera in the Museu Víctor Balaguer, Barcelona.¹ Prof. Nicola Spinosa does not mention this version in his 2008 catalogue raisonné, but does acknowledge that a number of replicas exist.²
