First published by Perina as Bazzani, the present sheet was subsequently attributed by Ruggeri (see literature) to the Bolognese artist Francesco Monti. This attribution was discarded by Flavio Caroli in his monograph on Bazzani. Caroli pointed out this is a late work by Bazzani.
