With Galerie Jean-Cherrier, Paris;
Anonymous sale, Monaco, Sotheby's, 2 December 1989, lot 362 (as Follower of Cornelis van Spaendonck);
There acquired.
Cornelis van Spaendonck trained under his brother Gerard in Paris and worked at the Sèvres porcelain works for over twenty years. A member of the Académie des Beaux Arts and a frequent exhibitor at Salons, Spaendonck had many faithful followers and copyists, making firm attribution of his works difficult.
